Color Consultant Vs Interior Designer

Color ConsultantAfter over 20 years in business I have learned a thing or two. Mainly how to send an email, a text, while on the phone placing an order with a vendor, all at the same time. Being a retailer you have to learn to multi-task x 3.

My husband attempts to calm me down and his favorite thing to say to me is: “It’s not a race.” And after all of these years, my goal is still to get the most accomplished in the course of my day always striving to reach that unobtainable finish line.

My experience has taught me the real lesson is that we all have our strengths. And the best way to be successful in business is to stay in your own lane. With so many businesses to choose from what consumers really want is an expert in their field.

I am NOT an Interior Designer, I am a Color Consultant. After opening in 1997, I went back to school for my interior design degree (my bachelors is in Marketing). I am about 6 classes from finishing but opted not to because it is not necessary for what I do.

My strength is COLOR. I do not do furniture, accessories, or window treatments. I focus on what I am the best at which is specification of Paint, Paint colors, Wallpaper (color), and Flooring (product/color). These items need to work together to make the plan successful.

Color ConsultantThat is why “Color” is my focus and putting a plan together to create a color palette is my specialty. When that is in place and correct the rest will follow.

I work with a lot of designers and assist them with paint and paint colors. I refer them to assist my clients with their areas of expertise: fabrics, furniture, accessories, kitchen & bath design, and the like. My years in this industry has provided me a great referral network of experienced and trusted contractors and designers that I am proud to refer.
